CHILDHOOD
I've been nostalgia-pilled since birth. I'm a reminiscense-cel. So I've thought about my childhood a lot, and like, I've noticed a lot of weird things I've experienced. Like most children, I used to be really afraid of the dark. But the reason I feared the dark was pretty weird. I believed that there was someone in my room that was watching me sleep and just didn't do anything except that. Even though it made zero sense, I still covered my entire body with my blanket while sleeping up until June of this year. I also had this weird fear that a burgular would get in the house but like. Why would they go into the house when it was full? I was really stupid TvT.
When I was like, 8, I started watching stuff on streaming services instead of actual TV, and therefore I could pause. But I was very particular about when I paused. Because, if I paused while a character's face was onsceen, I'd move around to do what I wanted to, but then the character's eyes would follow me. No matter where I was, as long as I was in the TV's line of sight, it'd be looking at me. I literally have zero clue what I was afraid of. Like, I knew fictional characters are... fictional. But I thought the TV was haunted or something ??? (Tenna...)
I think I just had a problem seperating reality from fiction as a kid. I straight-up thought Pokémon were real and were just like hidden or something. I promise I wasn't stupid nor conspiratorial, I was just weird and hopeful... Sorta related, but mirrors were actually the bane of my existence. Seeing my reflection always just creeped me out. And our entire bathroom had a reflective surface!!! When brushing my teeth, I'd try to move away as far as possible and try not to focus on my reflection. It got so bad to the point I removed my mirror from my room; though I'm like, normal now probably. Do you guys see the theme...
I had my fair share of auditory hallucinations, too. Often, especially in Egypt, I'd hear my mom call out for me, but when I go to her, she says she said nothing. I have zero clue why I heard stuff like that way more in Egypt. Maybe Egypt has an evil scary dark aura. Damn...
Something not as important but still kinda weird: I just smell food whenever I think of it. Involuntarily. And it's awesome! It's technically an olfactory hallucination but it's cool ngl
TEENAGEHOOD
I've like no clue why but a lot more weird stuff happens as a teenager. Do note that I've been a teen for a little over a year, so I really don't have much to talk about XP, still something though! So, to hit my quota of DELTARUNE references, I'm gonna talk about darkness!
I really like being in the dark, I did even when I was still afraid of it (spoilers...). And when it's dark, stuff becomes more indistinct. So my feeling of being watched increased. But it was... strangely... comforting...? Like, I'm being watched by beings beyond my comprehension, but they're not doing anything. They could, probably, but they don't. And if I ever start feeling uncomfortable, I can just turn the lights back on. This wasn't actually my thought process back then, it's just mine now after I stopped being afraid. Speaking of! I lost my fear of the dark bc of DELTARUNE, funnily enough. Ralsei's monologue and the whole "Angel's Light" and "Your love will become theirs" and "...gain an immense amount of hope" were really cool so I was just like "I'm better than the dark!!" and pretended to do the soul shine thing and it worked??? Lmao
Last minute change, but I just remembered this thing that happened 3 days ago and it was seriously so weird. I went into my room, my door was unlocked, I was parallel to the closet and away from the door. Good, right? Nope!! The damn door somehow closed behind me even though it's designed to stay unmoving if there isn't any input. And everyone in my house was asleep. Was that FRIEND or something????

ADDENDUM
something i couldn't see just scratched at my leg. i witnessed it in real-time. something jumped out of my leg the moment it stopped but it just disappeared after. what????? did the knight swoon my leg WAIT the "unused" dialogue mentions it being so dark (so they couldn't see anything) and a scratching noise. FRIEND IS HAUNTING ME ALSO the unused code person talks about a door closing behind them. guess what happened to me recently with no explanation. Oh My God
